Alessandro is the Chief Information Officer for Merck group. His mission is to design, deliver and implement technological solutions in the area of IT/Digital focus towards patients and customers all across the globe. In 2020, his work has been recognised in the GARTNER executive report as “Best in Class” example in the area of Automation and Augmentation. In 2019, he has been awarded as "top 100 leader in HealthCare" by the IFAH (International Forum for Advancements in Healthcare). In 2017, he has been interviewed by WSJ and several other newspapers for his groundbreaking work in “Self Driving Supply Chain”. Previously to his Pharma supply chain experience, he worked in Procter & Gamble (FMCG’s industry) for 20 years holding positions across Innovation & Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain Management. He has operated in countries such as China, Russia, Venezuela, Spain and several Eastern European countries and has been based in Italy, Belgium, Switzerland and Spain.
